Baystate Associations make a combined donation of $1,000 to the South Providence Packers

UpdatedWednesday May 31, 2017 bySuzanne Lucien.

Sometime in Mid-June the Baystate Conference heard that a sister team The South Providence Packers ("Packers") of Providence, RI were struggling to stay intact.  Their Association President had to step down due to some immediate and serious health issues.  Our New England Regional Cheer Director Keesha Dickey ("Keesha") is from that area and vowed to keep them up and running.  After a lot of struggling and last minute running around, Keesha was able to file the appropriate papers with the state to keep the Packers running for another season.

After Keesha had finalized the paperwork she had the larger task of coming up with the funds to pay for the registration fees and insurance.  They had little to no funds available and raising them in such a short time was questionable at best.  After speaking to a friend, the issue was brought to the attention of the Baystate Conference Board of Directors.  The Presidents of EVERY Baystate Association immediately and withouth hesitation pledged $100 each for a total of $1,000 to help this Association. When told of the news, Keesha was elated stating "You are all so amazing, I cannot thank you enough!"

Friends helping friends is what AYF/AYC is all about.  We are all so proud to come from such a special Conference.  Please watch our "Baystate Giving Back" section for the next great deed done by Baystate and its Associations/members.
