Mass State Championship

November 2, 2019 - hosted by Baystate Conference

Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

State Competition Information at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium:

  • Parking will be in the Davidson Lot and cost for parking is $10. There will not be any parking allowed on Brown Street. Garage will open at 6:30 AM

  • If you park on Brown Street and do not have a parking pass, you will be towed at the vehicle owner's expense!

  • Admission is $TBD at the door – Cash only - NO DISCOUNTED TICKETS.

  • Parents will enter at the main entrance on Merrimack Street.

  • No signs, balloons, cow bells, air horns, noisemakers etc. of any kind permitted.

  • No flash photography! No lighted videography! (you will be asked to leave)

  • Cheerleaders and volunteers to enter at the top of the handicapped ramp on Merrimack Street.

  • There will not be any early check ins. – Do not arrive early.

  • Team Parents will not be permitted with team even if on the roster.

  • Doors will open to spectators at TBD/AM performances begin at TBD/AM

  • Teams must enter together as a full team with all participants/coaches/dems. Books will be checked, coaches need their ID.

  • No bags other than one coach bag and props. No food, water or any other items like this brought in or in bags.

  • Bags will be checked and any outside food/drinks will be thrown away at the door.

  • Spectators and teams will be asked to clear out of the building after each session is complete

  • Everyone must clean up all of their trash.

  • DJ can play music on Discs, phones, etc. If you use your phone please remember to turn the volume up, have the phone on airplane mode, and make sure “Auto-lock” is turned off in your settings. Hoping to have advanced submision of music - check back oftern

  • Please be respectful and remain silent while teams are on the mats.

  • There will be 9 mats on the floor (if space allows) for competing and there are expected to be spotters available during the routines – if your team chooses not to have spotters you must tell them directly that you do not want them to spot.

  • Only 1 coach only should go to score check – you have 10 mins to review and challenge. Everyone should come up right away to ensure we do not slow the process.

  • Make sure you have recorded and viewed your team before making a challenge because you will be charged any additional penalties found when score check reviews the video – the full video.

  • Under no circumstances should any parents be in the “cheerleaders only” section of the venue which is the lower floor of the arena (excluding the vendor/ticket area). Anyone caught in this area will be escorted out of the arena without return.

  • Warm up: Station 1 & 2 “Veterans Wing, 3rd Floor Function Hall”  Station 3 silent routine run through on the stage behind the curtain

  • Station 1: 1 mat to stretch / 4 minutes

  • Station 2: 1 mats - your discretion music and voices not excessive / 4 minutes

  • Head downstairs to the stage. Time begins when first cheerleader's foot hits the mat

  • Station 3 (final warm up area) Your discretion must be SILENT (4 minutes)

  • Coaches and cheerleaders should bring a trash bag and clean up all trash from their sitting area before going down to the floor. Teams will be exiting from the floor after awards.

  • Only 2 cheerleaders should go up to get the trophy.

  • Teams placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, advance to Regionals on 11/23

  • Cheer Coordinators may collect score sheets at the end of each session unless otherwise directed during the event.

  • Only bracelets and lanyards have access to lower half of arena.

  • Parents/Spectators are all upstairs. Anyone caught in the lower level without a bracelet / lanyard will be asked to leave with no re-entry

  • Handicapped spectators in a wheelchair: will be accompanied by a staff member and may bring 1 guest (no exceptions)

  • Volunteers: cannot have children accompanying them

  • VERY IMPORTANT NOTE – THE UPSTAIRS CONCESSIONS MAY BE SELLING ALCOHOL – DUE TO CONTRACT AND BUYOUT RESTRUCTIONS WE DO NOT HAVE CONTROL OF THIS – HOWEVER YOU MUST REMIND YOUR FAMILES THAT THEY SIGNED A CODE OF CONDUCT AND PURCHASING ALCOHOL AT AN AYF/AYC EVENT WILL BE IN VIOLATION OF THAT CODE OF CONDUCT AND THEY COULD BE ASKED TO LEAVE.

  • Coordinators and Presidents will get in free with their teams, but names must be provided in advance.

  • Football players cannot get in free, cheerleaders not cheering cannot get in free.
