LOCALS 2018 INFO

LOCATION:
Bellingham High School

60 Blackstone Street

Bellingham, MA 02019

THINGS TO REMIND YOUR FAMILIES AND TEAMS:

  • DOORS WILL NOT OPEN UNTIL 30 MINUTES BEFORE EACH SESSION BEGINS!!!

  • COACH ROSTERS WITH ABSENTEE FORMS ARE REQUIRED FOR ENTRANCE TO THIS COMP.

  • If a cheerleader needs wrists taped – you must provide the tape to the trainer.

  • Please do not arrive early. There is limited space in the team check in area and with the expected bad weather, we don’t want cheerleaders waiting outside.

  • Teams will be entering at the first parking lot/first door. They should walk over from the Spectator Lot if arriving with parent.

  • Buses can come in the bus loop to drop cheerleaders off and then must move out of the parking lot. Buses can park at the overflow lot (Middle School)

  • In the event that the parking lots fill up…there is parking in the over flow lot at the middle school located at 130 Blackstone Street, Bellingham, MA 02019. If you park at the middle school you can walk across the field, past the track and there is a set of stairs that lead up to the HS.

  • Parents will be entering at the second parking lot and second door.

  • Only volunteers and busses will be allowed to park in the first lot.Parking monitors will likely be asking your name for you to gain access to that lot.

  • No bags allowed in for cheerleaders – one Coach bag per team

  • Each cheerleader may enter with one bottle of water – no food, just water.

  • No food or drinks are allowed in the gym or auditorium, only in the café- remind coaches to not give the kids food in the auditorium

  • Please pick up all of your trash upon clearing out of the gym, there are 4 sessions and a competition the next day. Please save us the work.

  • This is a change from last year and will be enforced - When the teams finish awards NO ONE should approach the mats. NO pictures are allowed on the mat after awards. The team will go back to the team check in area to meet parents.

  • This is a change from last year and will be enforced - Parents will exit out to the LEFT (NOT THE WAY THEY CAME IN) and walk behind the warm up area to the doors to exit. Parents will exit that way and throw out their trash in the barrels by that door.  You can walk around the front of the school to the volunteer/cheerleader check in to retrieve your child.

  • Do not stand in the doorway of the gym.  Anyone standing or blocking the doors will be asked to leave the gym.

  • The weather is expected to be bad so we cannot grill outside as we have done in the past, but have made arrangements for lots of choices for lunch. Please make sure your children have a plastic bag with their name on them

  • Volunteers should arrive at least 5 minutes before their shift starts and remain until the very end of their shift for each town to receive full credit.

  • We are still in need of volunteers for the 3rd and 4th session. If anyone would like to assist, please have them check in with Patty Dilberian at the volunteer table and she will let you know if they are needed.

  • Only cheerleaders and volunteers are allowed in the hall by the auditorium.

  • If you are a volunteer, please dress warm in case you are asked to do parking duty. Even if it is not something you were assigned to, we may need more help with parking!

Remember this is a HUGE event this year. We have 88 teams performing. We expect some bumps in the road… please be patient!  We are all volunteers and we ask that you treat everyone respectfully and you will receive that same courtesy.

Let’s hope for a great day!

Sue Lucien,

Baystate Cheer Director

Tracey Elliot,

Dual County/Tri Valley Cheer Director
